On the first weekend in April, Carnuntum comes to life! As part of the event "People of Carnuntum", visitors will encounter locals from ancient times in the Roman houses, sharing stories about their daily lives and experiences.
These historical inhabitants are portrayed by cultural interpreters from Roman City Carnuntum, who bring history to life with fascinating stories and insights on special topics. The theme "Life on the Frontier – Carnuntum as a Hub of Cultures" focuses on the Roman Limes, trade, and cultural exchange in a border region of the empire.
Our science magazine also focussed on ‘Life on the Frontier’ and provides an insight into the various facets of everyday life on the Danube Limes!
Tickets
Admission tickets and guided tour tickets for The People of Carnuntum (April 5 and 6, 2025) correspond to the regular admission and guided tour tickets and are now available in our webshop. The NÖ-Card is valid on these days at the normal conditions (one admission per season and card).
